
For its upcoming inaugural festival, the DC/DOX documentary film festival, held June 15-18, 2023 in Washington, DC, showcases 31 features and 21 shorts from eight countries, with 60% of filmmakers identifying as women or non-binary.

A documentary on the origins of the anti-gay movement, 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture directed by Sharon “Rocky” Roggio won the Audience Choice Award for Best Film at the 47th Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF47) which took place March 22nd – April 1st, 2023. The documentary follows the story of tireless researchers who trace the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians to a grave mistranslation of the Bible in 1946.

The 25th anniversary edition of Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) taking place in-person across Sarasota through April 2, 2023 opened on Saturday, March 25 with Dawn Porter’s Cirque Du Soleil: Without A Net. The film offers a behind-the-scenes look into “O”, Cirque’s flagship production, on its journey back after the COVID-19 pandemic.
