The Favourite won seven BAFTAs at the EE British Academy Film Awards including the award for Outstanding British Film, with Olivia Colman receiving the BAFTA for Leading Actress, Rachel Weisz taking Supporting Actress and Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara winning Original Screenplay. Sandy Powell won Costume Design, Fiona Crombie and Alice Felton won Production Design and Nadia Stacey won Make Up & Hair.
On the heels of yesterday’s Oscar nominations, Regal announced its annual Best Picture Film Festival will take place Friday, Feb. 15, through Sunday, Feb. 24, featuring all best picture nominees that played in Regal theatres in 2018. Since Roma had a limited theatrical screening and did not play in Regal theatres, the film is noticeably excluded.

Directors Guild of America President Thomas Schlamme today announced the five nominees for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2018, and the five nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement of a First-Time Feature Film Director for 2018.
“Green Book,” pulled one of many surprises at the 76th Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, winning three awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for Mahershala Ali. In probably the biggest upset of the night, “Bohemian Rhapsody” was named Best Motion Picture – Drama, along with Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Rami Malek.
Alfonso Cuarón’s ROMA added another two Awards to its growing list of accolades, winning the top prizes for Best Film and Best Direction at the 8th AACTA International Awards. Cuarón, who won the same two awards in 2014 for GRAVITY, now holds the record for the most AACTA International Award wins by an individual (a record previously held by Alejandro G. Iñárritu with three).
The Producers Guild announced the movies and television shows nominated for the 30th Annual Producers Guild Awards. The PGA Awards is closely watched as the winner has matched the Oscar for best picture in 20 of its 29 years.
AARP The Magazine today announced the nominees for the 18th Movies for Grownups Awards, with A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Green Book and Roma competing in the Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups category.
Roma, director Alfonso Cuarón’s autobiographical film, triumphed over “If Beale Street Could Talk,” “First Reformed,” and “The Favourite.” to win Best Film honors from the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS). Roma also won the following awards: Best Film Not in the English Language, Best Director, and Best Cinematography.
