The 37th Vancouver Queer Film Festival has announced the winners of 2025 Audience Awards with the top honors going to Really Happy Someday directed by J Stevens for Canadian Feature and Between Goodbyes directed by Jota Mun winning for International Feature.

The 41st Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAPFF) taking place from May 1 to May 7, 2025 will open with the world premiere of Surrender, Jess Dang’s feature directorial debut, starring Andrea Bang and Keiko Agena. Also screening on opening night May 1 is the world premiere of the short documentary, Māhū: A Trans-Pacific Love Story. Directed by Lisette Marie Flanary, the film explores the Native Hawaiian concept of gender fluidity as it follows an innovative theater production by Kumu Hula Patrick Makuakāne.
Waltzing Matilda, directed by Petr Slavík won the Best Narrative Feature Jury Award and The Strike, directed by Joe Bill Muñoz and Lucas Guilkey won Best Documentary Feature Jury Award at the 2024 Santa Fe International Film Festival.
Celebrating its 15th edition, the 2024 DOC NYC will screen over 110 feature-length documentaries from November 13-21, 2024 at IFC Center, SVA Theatre, and Village East by Angelika in New York City, continuing online until December 1, 2024.
