Cinema Eye Honors kicked off its 17th season with its first awards announcements for 2024, revealing the nominees in five Broadcast categories, the annual Shorts List — spotlighting 10 of the year’s top documentary short films — the 20 films on the Audience Choice Prize Long List and the unveiling of this year’s Unforgettables Honorees.
Clair Titley’s The Contestant will open the 14th DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival — running in-person November 8-16 and continuing online through November 26, presenting more than 105 feature-length documentaries .
Sheffield DocFest rolled out the full film program, Alternate Realities exhibitions, and public Talks for the 30th edition of the festival taking place June 14-19, 2023.
Raging Grace directed by Paris Zarcilla is the winner of the Grand Jury Award in the Narrative Feature Competition at the 30th SXSW Film & TV Festival. The jury commented, “The story of a Filipina house cleaner and her young daughter confronting Britain’s racial and class divides, Raging Grace is both frank and elusive, a film that subverts expectations on its way to a stirring conclusion.”
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, directed and co-written by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will open the 30th edition of the SXSW Film & TV Festival taking place March 10-19, 2023.
