Sara Dosa’s Fire of Love and Alex Pritz’ The Territory lead the nominees for the 16th Cinema Eye Honors Annual Awards celebrating outstanding artistry and craft in nonfiction filmmaking, with seven nominations each, tying the record for most Cinema Eye nominations in a single year. Shaunak Sen’s Cannes-winning feature, All That Breathes, received six nominations, and Laura Poitras’ All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, winner of the Golden Lion at Venice, received four.

IFC films released the new official trailer for Cow, Academy Award winner Andrea Arnold’s (Fish Tank, American Honey) intimate portrait of one dairy cow’s life. The film highlights the beauty and challenges cows face, and their great service to us all.

IFC Films will release COW, filmmaker Andrea Arnold’s (American Honey, Fish Tank) groundbreaking documentary debut of an immersive, empathetic portrait of the life of a dairy cow. The film world-premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and has been featured at top festivals throughout the world including Telluride, AFI and London. The BAFTA-nominated documentary will launch theatrically in on Friday, April 8 in New York (IFC Center) and Los Angeles (Landmark Westwood, Laemmle Playhouse 7) and will also be available everywhere films are rented. A national theatrical rollout will follow.

AFI FEST unveiled the full lineup for this year’s festival including Parallel Mothers, written and directed by Academy Award® winner Pedro Almodóvar, which will screen as a Red Carpet Premiere at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre on Saturday, November 13.

Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival will kick off its 30th edition with the Opening Night presentation of Samuel D. Pollard and Rex Miller’s Citizen Ashe, followed by the Centerpiece Selections of E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin’s The Rescue and CJ Hunt’s The Neutral Ground, with Julie Cohen and Betsy West’s Julia screening on Closing Night.

Mill Valley Film Festival announced the lineup of 118 films – 65 features and 53 shorts, for the 44th edition of the festival headlined by Joe Wright’s Cyrano as opening night film, Mike Mills’ C’mon C’mon, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Centerpiece film and Wes Anderson’s star-studded The French Dispatch as closing night film.
