Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another led the nominations for the 2025 Astra Film Awards with 11 nominations, earning nods for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, Best Director for Anderson, and four supporting nominations for Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, Sean Penn, and Benicio del Toro.

AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards revealed the nominees lead by Hamnet, A House of Dynamite, One Battle After Another, Sinners and Train Dreams competing for Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups.
Eleanor the Great marks the feature-length directorial debut of Scarlett Johansson, reinventing herself behind the camera with a character-driven drama. Anchoring the story is June Squibb portraying Eleanor Morgenstein, a witty, “proudly troublesome” 94-year-old who, after decades in Florida, relocates to New York City following the death of her best friend.
