The Novice scored 5 nominations including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Female Lead and Best Supporting Female.
Sony Classics released the official trailer for the award-winning drama Jockey starring Clifton Collins Jr. as an aging jockey attempting to win one last title while young rookie guns for his crown. Jockey premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, where Clifton Collins Jr. won a Special Jury Award for Acting. Also starring in the film are Molly Parker, Moises Arias, Logan Cormier, and Colleen Hartnett.

Love, Dad (Milý tati) directed by Diana Cam Van Nguyen won the Grand Jury Prize – Animation and Al-Sit directed by Suzannah Mirghani won the Grand Jury Prize – Live Action making the films eligible for the 2021 Best Live Action Short and Best Animated Short Academy Awards®.
Whistler Film Festival (WFF) announced the full film lineup of 81 epic, bold and inspiring films, for its 21st edition with a hybrid offering of online and in-theatre screenings. 20 of 40 features and 25 of 41 shorts directed or co-directed by women or non-binary individuals.

Mill Valley Film Festival announced the lineup of 118 films – 65 features and 53 shorts, for the 44th edition of the festival headlined by Joe Wright’s Cyrano as opening night film, Mike Mills’ C’mon C’mon, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Centerpiece film and Wes Anderson’s star-studded The French Dispatch as closing night film.
Eva Husson’s Mothering Sunday will have its U.S. Premiere as the Centerpiece film of the 29th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival on Sunday, October 10.
