Rose Glass’ dramatic horror Saint Maud leads the nominations for the 41st annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards with 8 nominations, including Film, Director, Screenwriter, Actress (Morfydd Clark) and Supporting Actress (Jennifer Ehle). In addition, the film is nominated for British/Irish Film of the Year, and Clark is nominated for British/Irish Actress, a body-of-work award that includes her appearance in Eternal Beauty.
British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) announced the long list for the 2020 Best British Short Film award. The 16 films listed below were chosen from over 300 entries. BIFA also announced this year’s long list in its highly-competitive Best International Independent Film category, and Best Documentary category, celebrating the finest independent films of the year.

Pedro Almodovar’s Oscar-nominated Pain and Glory swept the top awards on Saturday at 34th Goya Awards, Spain’s version of the Oscars, winning a total of seven awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. The film also won the technical awards – European Costume Design 2019, European Cinematography 2019, European Editing 2019, and European Hair & Make-Up 2019.
