The late Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun will be honored at the 29th Busan International Film Festival with a special program titled ‘In Memory of Lee Sun-kyun’, where six of the actor’s most beloved films will be screened. The festival will also honor the late actor with this year’s Korean Cinema Award.
Parasite won the Best Film award at the 14th Asian Film Awards (“AFA14”) along with Best Screenplay for co-writers Han Jin Won and the film’s director Bong Joon Ho. The Asian Film Awards Academy (“AFAA”) announced the nominations for the 14th Asian Film Awards (“AFA14”) lead by Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning Parasite with 10 nominations, followed by So Long, My Son by Wang Xiaoshuai and A Sun by Chung Mong-hong, which have both been nominated in 7 categories.
Hulu announced today that Parasite, winner of the Best Picture at this year’s Oscar, will be exclusively available for streaming beginning Wednesday, April 8. Parasite, from director Bong Joon Ho took home four Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film. In her personal debut film, shot in black-and-white, filmmaker Zheng Lu Xinyuan follows 22-year-old Muzi as she returns to Hangzhou, where she was born, for the New Year’s celebration. However, it’s like she doesn’t really fit in anywhere.
The Latino Entertainment Journalists Association announced the winners for the 2019 Latino Entertainment Film Awards where “Parasite” won the most awards with five, including Best Picture, Director (Bong Joon-Ho), Original Screenplay (Bong Joon-Ho and Jin Won Han), International Feature (for the country of South Korea), and Film Editing (Yang Jinmo).
And Then We Danced and Aniara were crowned the winners of the 2020 Guldbagge Awards held in Stockholm yesterday, with four awards each. Levan Akin’s And Then We Danced won the top prize of Best Film, with the Best Director award going to Pella Kågerman and Hugo Lilja for Aniara.
