2019 Nashville Film Festival Announces U.S. Independents Films Lineup
BABYSPLITTERS, directed by Sam Friedlander The darkly humorous International Falls, the world premiere of the civil rights era coming-of-age story Tuscaloosa, and Speed of Life, a leap 20 years into the future through a wormhole created by David Bowie’s death are among the films showcased in the U.S. Independents Program of the 50th Nashville Film Festival, taking place October 3 to 12, 2019.

Magnolia Picture to Release SCANDALOUS, Documentary on National Enquirer
National Enquirer SCANDALOUS, a new documentary directed by Mark Landsman (THUNDER SOUL, LOS JETS) that leads viewers on a wild ride through the larger-than-life pages of the National Enquirer, highlighting the publication’s impact on journalism, business, culture and politics has been acquired by Magnolia Picture for release in US. Magnolia is planning a November 15 theatrical release. CNN Films will have North American broadcast rights, while AGC International will oversee international distribution rights.

Directed by Roger Michell, Blackbird is a remake of Stille Hjerte / Silent Heart (2014), the drama with which the Danish filmmaker Bille August competed at the Festival and for which Paprika Steen won the Silver Shell for Best Actress.
