The 8th Annual Academy Award-Qualifying Indy Shorts International Film Festival (Indy Shorts) will take place July 22-27, 2025. The festival will showcase 253 short films with screenings at Living Room Theaters, Newfields (The Tobias Theater, The Amphitheater and The Beer Garden) in Indianapolis, Indiana and available to stream.

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has revealed the ‘secret’ twelfth film in the festival’s Crystal Globe Competition as the Iranian film Bidad. Originally kept secret and only identified as an Iranian film, it was not included in the original film competition lineup announcement to protect the safety of the film’s delegation.

Rosemead from Eric Lin won Best Narrative Award and The Librarians directed by Kim A. Snyder took home the prize for Best Documentary Award at the 2025 Bentonville Film Festival. The 11th anniversary of the festival ran from June 16-22 in Bentonville, AR.

Abramorama shared the official trailer for The Short Game, the award-winning, family friendly film starring Ben Krieger from Nickelodeon’s Counting Stars as a teenage golf prodigy struggling with his game as he is forced to care for his autistic brother played by Owen Himfar. Also starring in the film are Mackenzie Astin (The Pitt, The Blacklist) and Brandon Potter (The Chosen).

Inspired by the real-life 2019 shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue, Guns & Moses, the action-thriller film directed by Salvador Litvak, opens in theaters nationwide on July 18. ,
