Alice Eve stars in Chum, Jonathan Zuck’s thriller, where a destination wedding turns deadly as a group of guests finds themselves stranded in the middle of the sea with a sinister fisherman.
The cast of the film includes Alice Eve, Eric Michael Cole, Elle Haymond, Sarah Siadat, Johnny Gaffney, Lisa Yaro, and Jim Klock.
Chum opens in U.S. theaters on June 5, 2026.
A destination wedding in Malta devolves into a nightmare when shark attacks and a fisherman with a hidden agenda transform the celebration into a dangerous trap. Caught between the open ocean and the fisherman’s plot, the wedding party must fight to survive as their loyalties are tested and secrets are unveiled. As the newlyweds are tested, they must confront the cracks in their relationship to determine who survives and stays married.
In James McDonald’s review of Chum, he wrote that the movie features a “genuinely terrifying shark—thanks to a combination of AI wizardry and actual great white footage,” but this is where his positive remarks about the film end. He calls the acting performances “so wooden I half-expected splinters” with an emotional range that’s “cabbage-adjacent.”
