Neon has debuted the official trailer for Her Private Hell, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, which follows the intersecting lives of Elle and Private K as they navigate a neon-saturated, dystopian city submerged in a mysterious mist.
The film stars Sophie Thatcher, Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, Kristine Froseth, Shioli Kutsana, Aoi Yamada, Dougray Scott, Diego Calva, and Hidetoshi Nishijima.
Known for his signature high-contrast neon aesthetic, this marks Refn’s first feature film in a decade, following The Neon Demon (2016). He has also directed the Pusher trilogy, Bleeder, Bronson, Valhalla Rising, Drive, and Only God Forgives.
Her Private Hell premiered at the 79th Cannes Film Festival and will be released in theaters in the US on July 24, 2026.

The official synopsis reads: When a mysterious mist engulfs a futuristic metropolis, unleashing a deadly and elusive entity, a troubled young woman searches for her father. Her quest collides with an American GI on a harrowing odyssey to rescue his daughter from Hell.
Thatcher, in an interview with Cultured Magazine, said making the film “was transcendent, trippy, and not grounded at all, but a really good exercise to do something entirely different… I know that [the movie] is not going to be well received, but the people who get it, or who respect its strangeness, I just have so much more respect [for them].”
Critics’ reviews have been mixed, confirming Thatcher’s prediction. Variety‘s review said, “Her Private Hell is a disaster, but even that’s part of its hipster factor. The film practically announces that it’s too cool to be coherent.”
