Here is the trailer for Occupational Hazard: The First Coral Reefers, an award-winning Jimmy Buffett documentary narrated by Jeff Bridges about the early years of his original Coral Reefer Band.

John H. Cunningham is directing the film and producing it alongside Ted E. Haynes; featured in the film are Kenny Chesney, Mac McAnally, Keith Sykes, and The Coral Reefer Band.

Set against the backdrop of a 1970s and 1980s Key West, this feature documentary tells the story of Jimmy Buffett’s original Coral Reefer Band. It explores the musicians, friendships, touring years, and studio sessions that helped shape Buffett’s legendary sound.

Occupational Hazard reveals never-before-seen archival footage and personal interviews with founding members, tour managers, producers, and music icons, offering fans a deeper look at the people behind the music and the era of Buffett’s legacy. It captures the camaraderie, chaos, and magic of an era that thrived on freedom, while also paying tribute to Buffett, and the original Coral Reefers and the beauty of a musical moment that couldn’t last but left a lasting legacy for future generations.

The film premiered at the 2026 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and has since been acquired by Evan Saxon Productions for North American theatrical rights. It will open in major cities on September 4, 2026 – timed to Jimmy Buffett Day – with TVOD and digital releases to follow in October 2026.
