The European Film Academy added 21 more films to the shortlist for the European Film Awards’ Feature Film Selection 2023, now comprising 40 European feature films. This year’s feature film selection includes an increased number of female filmmakers with 18 female directors out of all 43 directors of the 40 selected films.

The European Film Awards honor the greatest achievements in European cinema. The nominations of the European Film Awards will be revealed on November 7, 2023, and the awards ceremony takes place on December 9, 2023, in Berlin.
