Bleecker Street shared the first look trailers for Sasquatch Sunset, the comedy film starring Riley Keough, Jesse Eisenberg, Christophe Zajac-Denek and Nathan Zellner, as a family of Sasquatch bigfoots.

Directed by David Zellner and Nathan Zellner, Sasquatch Sunset world premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and opens in theaters on April 19th, 2024.
Synopsis
Spend a year in the life of a unique family. Captures the daily life of the Sasquatch with a level of detail & rigor that’s simply unforgettable. The nature film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Riley Keough, Christophe Zajac-Denek, and Nathan Zellner wearing full-on Sasquatch suits playing the kooky family living in the forest.

Grading the film a B in their review, Indiewire wrote, “….. Eisenberg, Keough, Nathan Zellner, and Christophe Zajac-Denek spend much of the film’s running time — which clocks in at a slim 89 minutes, but it can feel much longer during slower stretches, and covers a full year in their lives — farting, fucking, eating, snorting, sniffing, and even communicating with their fellow furry denizens in an unknown forest. (Fur aside, one of the film’s best gags comes care of a very snappy interaction with a pissed-off turtle, a bit of physical comedy that demonstrates the directing duo’s panache for finding comedy in seemingly simple bits.)
Variety review called the film an ‘an Earnest Art-House Bigfoot Movie‘, writing, “The vast majority of moviegoers will have no interest in — much less patience for — what the Zellner brothers are doing with “Sasquatch Sunset,” but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t riveted. The movie is an out-there oddity, like 1973’s truly bizarre, absurdist urban parable “Themroc” (a super-obscure, ultra-weird title worth dropping for those curious enough to have read this far), and the Zellners succeed in reining practically any impulse that would spoil it. Sasquatches may not exist, but miraculously enough, this movie does, and like the creatures it depicts, it must be seen to be believed.”
