The award-wining horror-fantasy film Zombi Child, from director Bertrand Bonello (Nocturama, Saint Laurent) blending mysticism, social commentary and horror will open in New York City at Film at Lincoln Center and Quad Cinema on January 24, 2020.

Academy Award–winner Spike Lee will be honored with the Film at Lincoln Center’s 46th Chaplin Award at the annual Award Gala on Monday, April 27, 2020. The Chaplin Award Gala is the most important fundraising event of the year for Film at Lincoln Center, and all proceeds benefit the organization in its mission to support the art and craft of cinema.
Elia Suleiman’s IT MUST BE HEAVEN was named Best Film at the CineCina Film Festival – THE ROAD, the first edition of its world cinema film festival. Winners of the awards at the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) were announced during the Closing Ceremony. The Grand Prix went to the Danish film Uncle. Director Frelle Petersen spoke about his struggles making the film: “We felt we had already won when we found out we were selected to compete in the Tokyo International Film Festival,” he said. “We were hung over the next day, because it was such a great reason for celebrating.”
The 2019 Indie Memphis Film Festival which ran from October 30th to November 4th, 2019, announced this year’s award recipients with the Narrative Competition award going to DE LO MIO by New York-based filmmaker Diana Peralta; DE LO MIO is a drama about three siblings who reunite in the Dominican Republic to face their demons.
ArtMattan Films acquired Brazilian action drama Marighella, the directing debut from journalist, musician, and actor Wagner Moura (Elite Squad; Pablo Escobar in Narcos.)
