Culinary Cinema 2019 The top chefs of the 13th Culinary Cinema from left to right: Haya Molcho, Angela Hartnett (above), The Duc Ngo, Kiko Moya, Sebastian Frank (below) The 13th Culinary Cinema in the Berlin International Film Festival will be held under the motto “A Taste for Balance” from February 10 to 15, 2019. Ten documentaries and two fiction films focussing on the relationship between food, culture, and politics are being presented this year.

Sammo Hung, the 43rd Hong Kong International Film Festival’s Filmmaker in Focus, appeared to take the cover shoot, with the internationally renowned photographer Wing Shya, for the upcoming commemorative book. Legendary action master Sammo Hung, who worked his way from actor, stuntman, martial arts choreographer, to director and producer for over half a century, is the 43rd Hong Kong International Film Festival’s Filmmaker in Focus. The 43rd Hong Kong International Film Festival will be held from March 18 to April 1, 2019.

Berlin Film Festival to Spotlight 16 Films from Pacific Region in NATIVe – A Journey into Indigenous Cinema

Directors: Becs Arahanga, Amberley Jo Aumua, Matasila Freshwater, Dianna Fuemana, Mīria George, ‘Ofa-Ki-Levuka Guttenbeil-Likiliki, Marina Alofagia McCartney, Nicole Whippy. © New Zealand Film Commission 16 short and feature-length fiction and documentary films from the Pacific region will screen in the NATIVe – A Journey into Indigenous Cinema at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival. Characteristic of the program is the presence of women on both sides of the camera: the special series’ opening film Vai alone features the collaborative efforts of a group of eight female filmmakers.

A VIOLENT MAN GVN Releasing has released the official poster and trailer for crime thriller A VIOLENT MAN written and directed by Matthew Berkowitz; and starring former NFL RB Pro-Bowler Thomas Q. Jones, UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell, Isaach De Bankolé, Bruce Davison and Denise Richards. A VIOLENT MAN will be released in theaters and on digital platforms February 8, 2019.

Rob Grant’s Dark Comedy HARPOON Acquired by Yellow Veil Pictures + Releases Trailer
Harpoon Harpoon from director Rob Grant (Mon Ami, 2012) and producers Michael Peterson (Alive, 2018), Kurtis David Harder (What Keeps You Alive, 2018) and Julian Black Antelope (Knuckleball, 2018) which makes its world premiere at the 48th International Film Festival Rotterdam has been acquired by NY/LA-based arthouse genre sales company Yellow Veil Pictures.

The Biggest Little Farm After screening 226 films from 78 countries, the 30th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) announced this year’s audience award winners – with Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature going to The Grizzlies, and Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature went to The Biggest Little Farm.

Diving Deep:The Life and Times of Mike deGruy The 34th Edition of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival taking place from January 30 to February 9, 2019, will feature 63 world premieres and 59 U.S. premieres from 48 countries, along with tributes with the year’s top talent, panel discussions, and free community education and outreach programs. The 34th Festival Poster was unveiled, again created by Barbara Boros who has designed the SBIFF poster each year for 16 years, this year highlighting Butterfly Beach.
