First Run Features has released Andrew James’ acclaimed documentary ‘Street Fighting Men,’ winner of the Spirit Award at Brooklyn Film Festival. The film follows three Detroit men, who facing dwindling public services, growing inequality and escalating violence, must fight to build something lasting for themselves and future generations in a rapidly changing America.

Just in time for Pride Month, Netflix will premiere the documentary Disclosure that looks at how the fabled stories of Hollywood deeply influence how Americans feel about transgender people, and how transgender people are taught to feel about themselves. Directed by Sam Feder and executive produced by Laverne Cox, the film world-premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and was also a selection of the Tribeca, CPH:DOX and Hot Docs festivals; and will launch globally on Netflix on Friday, June 19.

BrightFocus Foundation, a nonprofit organization funding scientific research and promoting public awareness to end diseases of mind and sight, will host a special free-to-the-public virtual presentation of the award-winning documentary Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice on June 4-10. The at-home movie night will feature an introduction from producer James Keach, and interviews with key scientists discussing their current research.

The We Are One: A Global Film Festival, co-curated by 21 prolific festivals including Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival, will feature over 100 films, in addition to talks, VR content and musical performances. The festival, produced and organized by Tribeca Enterprises and YouTube, will run exclusively May 29 – June 7 on YouTube.

The RiverRun International Film Festival which was held virtually this year in light of COVID-19 and the cancellation of the festival announced its 2020 Jury Award Winners. The top prizes went to De Lo Mio directed by Diana Peralta for Best Film; and I Am Not Alone directed by Garin Hovannisian won Best Documentary Feature.

Global Digital Releasing released the trailer for the political documentary, “Madagasikara” directed and produced by former attorney turned documentarian Cam Cowan.

The dark comedy “Mope” starring David Arquette, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Max Adler released a new trailer ahead of its release online on June 16. The film is the darkly hilarious and tragic true story of best friends Steve Driver and Tom Dong as they struggle to make it as porn stars, but end up getting hired as “mopes,” the porn equivalent of movie extras.

The Archaeology Channel International Film Festival 2020 which screened the films online after plans for all public Festival gatherings were dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic announced the winners.
