Delfine Paolini’s A Wonderful Way With Dragons won Best Narrative Feature Film, and also took home Best Cinematography for Abdelsalam Moussa’s work on the film at the 8th edition of the Forest Hills, Queeens-based film festival Festival of Cinema NYC.

Ivy Vale’s coming of age musical Out of My Comfort Zone will open this year’s 8th edition of Festival of Cinema NYC, the Queens-based film festival, running from August 2-11, 2024. The festival returns to the Regal UA Midway in Forest Hills with additional venues this year including the Queens Public Library at Forest Hills, Yant Tattoo Studios – the Official Filmmaker Lounge and special presentations at the Queens Center Mall in Rego Park. The festival closes with the world premiere of Delfine Paolini’s A Wonderful Way with Dragons.

Aly Yeganeh’s Sibel’s Silence won Best Narrative Feature Film, and Pierre Guillet’s The Book of Harth won Best Documentary at the 7th edition of Festival of Cinema NYC in Forest Hill, Queens. Althea Root’s Good Side of Bad took home the Audience Choice for Best Feature Film.

Christina Kallas’ NYC set indie film Paris in Harlem will open the 7th edition of Festival of Cinema NYC, returning to the Regal UA Midway and the Queens Library at Forest Hills from August 3 – August 13, 2023. The festival closes with Anna Baumgarten’s multiple award-winning drama Disfluency.

Casey Nelson and Marchelle Thurman’s Black, White and the Greys led the winners of the 6th edition of Festival of Cinema NYC filmmaker awards, taking both the Best Feature Film Narrative as well as the Audience Choice for Best Feature Film. Top individual awards went to Cory Choy (Esme, My Love) for Best Director, Nate Washburn (Behind the Wall) for Breakthrough Male Performance; and Nicole Stuart (40ish…) for Breakthrough Female Performance.

After showcasing over 115 independent films, the 2021 Festival of Cinema NYC announced this year’s filmmaker award winners with Holger Borggrefe and Stefan Hering’s Two is a Magic Number winning Best Feature Film- Narrative, Loving Mona directed by Terry Katz winning Best Documentary and Samuel Tressler IV’s Leda won Audience Choice for Best Feature Film.

Festival of Cinema NYC returns for its 5th year, as a live in-person 10-day event, taking place September 24-October 3, 2021, with over 120 independent films at the Regal UA Midway in Forest Hills, Queens.

Festival of Cinema announced the lineup of films screening at this year’s festival taking place as a “Drive – In Movie Theater” format in the borough of Queens, New York. The film festival, taking place from October 1 to October 4 at St. John’s University’s Queens Campus, will be screening six ‘blocks’ of movies featuring 28 independent films.

After facing many challenges this year, Festival of Cinema will deliver a live film festival event to the borough of Queens, New York in the form of a Drive-In Movie Theater!

Festival of Cinema NYC announce the winners of its 3rd annual event at the Awards Gala on Sunday. From a pool of nearly 450 film submissions, the festival presented 125 remarkable films from 25 countries with the top awards going to “Quest – The Truth Always Rises” directed by Santiago Rizzo for Best Feature Narrative, and “The Ringmaster” directed by Molly Dworsky and Dave Newberg for Best Documentary.
