All We Imagine as Light directed by Payal Kapadia snagged the jury’s Fiction Feature Prize at the 2024 Montclair Film Festival. Soundtrack to a Coup D’etat directed by Johan Gimonprez won the Bruce Sinofsky Award for Documentary Feature Competition.

The 13th Montclair Film Festival, taking place October 18-27, in Montclair, New Jersey opens with Edward Berger’s Conclave, the psychological thriller following one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting the new Pope. Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence uncovers a trail of deep secrets left in the dead Pope’s wake, secrets which could shake the foundations of the Church.

The 12th Annual Montclair Film Festival, taking place October 20-29, in Montclair, NJ kicks off on Friday, October 20 at The Wellmont Theater with Dream Scenario, written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli. In Dream Scenario, Nicolas Cage stars as Paul Matthews, a listless family man and tenured professor with an affinity for evolutionary biology and anxiety regarding his own anonymity. One day, he discovers he has begun to appear in other people’s dreams and he becomes an overnight celebrity, showered with the attention he has long been denied. But when Paul encounters a dreamer whose visions of him differ substantially from the norm, he finds himself grappling with the Faustian bargain of fame. DREAM SCENARIO is an inventive comedy, filled with unpredictable twists and turns, driven by outstanding performances (including a performance by Nicolas Cage that ranks among his career best) and visionary insight into the unsettling power of contemporary celebrity.

Aftersun directed by Charlotte Wells was awarded the Fiction Feature Prize at the 2022 Montclair Film Festival (MFF). All the Beauty and the Bloodshed directed by Laura Poitras, was awarded the festival’s Bruce Sinosky Award for the Documentary Feature Competition.

The 2022 Montclair Film Festival unveiled its program featuring over 130 films, events, parties, and conversations for the festival’s 11th edition.

Tobias Lindholm’s The Good Nurse screens as the Fiction Centerpiece of the 2022 Montclair Film Festival, taking place October 21-30, in Montclair, NJ, and Academy Award® winner Eddie Redmayne will be honored with the festival’s Performance Of The Year Award. Tobias Lindholm along with Eddie Redmayne will attend a post-screening Q&A with Stephen Colbert.

The Worst Person in the World directed by Joachim Trier was awarded the Fiction Feature Prize and Flee, directed by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, took home the festival’s top Non-Fiction Competition prize at the 2021 Montclair Film Festival (MFF).

Montclair Film Festival announced the program lineup for the 10th edition of the festival running October 21-30, 2021, along with Maggie Gyllenhaal’s debut The Lost Daughter. Maggie Gyllenhaal will receive the festival’s Breakthrough Director & Writer Award for her work on the film and join Stephen Colbert in Conversation as part of the festival’s Storyteller Series.

The 10th annual Montclair Film Festival (MFF) taking place October 21-30, 2021 in Montclair, NJ will open on Thursday, October 21 with Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch at The Wellmont Theater. In his new film The French Dispatch, Wes Anderson has assembled an all-star cast (including Benicio Del Toro, Frances McDormand, Adrien Brody, Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, Jeffrey Wright, Owen Wilson and many more) created a love letter to journalists, following the exploits of a band of writers, editors, and essayists working to publish The French Dispatch, a fictional twentieth century magazine, published in a fictional French city.

There Is No Evil, directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, was awarded the top Fiction Feature Prize at 2020 Montclair Film Festival. Winner of the 2020 Berlin Film Festival’s Golden Bear for Best Feature, Mohammad Rasoulof’s There Is No Evil is a series of four interrelated short stories set against the backdrop of contemporary Iran.

Montclair Film Festival announced the Storyteller Series for the 9th annual festival taking place October 16-25, in Montclair, NJ. The 2020 Storyteller Series features Aaron Sorkin, Stephen Colbert, Sienna Miller, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and more.
