Directed by Patricia Bbaale Bandak, her personal documentary Death of a Saint will make its International Premiere at the 2024 Hot Docs Canadian Documentary Film Festival in Toronto on Tuesday April 30.

Chaired by Greta Gerwig, the Jury for the 77th Cannes Film Festival will include Turkish screenwriter and photographer Ebru Ceylan, American actress Lily Gladstone, French actress Eva Green and Lebanese director and screenwriter Nadine Labaki, as well as Spanish director and screenwriter Juan Antonio Bayona, Italian actor Pierfrancisco Favino, Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu, and French actor and producer Omar Sy.

For its second edition, DC/DOX documentary film festival will open with Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui’s Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, and close with Every Little Thing, directed by Sally Aitkin. The Centerpiece Screening will be Lana Wilson’s Look into My Eyes, and the Spotlight Screening will be Luther: Never Too Much, Dawn Porter’s Luther Vandross biopic. The second annual DC/DOX festival will be held June 13-16, 2024 in Washington, DC.

Cannes Film Festival revealed the eight projects presented in the new Immersive Competition including collective location-based virtual reality and mixed reality experiences, and projection mapping and holographic works. These carefully selected immersive works showcase the cutting edge of this new era in storytelling, challenging convention, embracing new technologies, and above all celebrating new artists as well as old.
