44 films from 21 countries have been confirmed to screen at the 34th AFI Latin American Film Festival, taking place September 21 to October 11 at the historic AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. The Festival spotlights Latin America’s films and filmmaking during National Hispanic Heritage Month.
The 25th Anniversary edition of Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (CLAIFF), taking place June 7-11, opens with Eva Longoria’s Flamin’ Hot, and will close with Claudia Sainte-Luce comedy Amor y matemáticas (Love and Mathematics).

Films from Bay Area filmmakers bookend the lineup for the 66th San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM Festival), set to take place in theaters across San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley from April 13 to April 23, 2023.

Cleveland International Film Festival announced its juried competitions for the upcoming 47th edition of the festival, comprised of thirty-two feature films in three competitions, with $30,000 in cash prizes available. In addition, dozens of short films will be included in CIFF’s three Oscar qualifying categories, with $3,000 in cash prizes available.
Miami Film Festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary edition from March 3-12, 2023, opening with Somewhere in Queens, directed by comedian and actor Ray Romano, who will attend. The festival will close with The Lost King, directed by Stephen Frears on Saturday, March 11.
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) returns for its 38th edition, with a lineup showcasing 52 world premieres and 78 U.S. premieres from 43 countries, running from February 8 to 18, 2023.

Thirteen film from fifteen countries will compete for the Kutxabank-New Directors Award at the 70th edition of San Sebastian Festival, which runs from September 16 to 24, 2022. Of the total selected movies, twelve are first works and one is the second film by its director.
The Brazilian film Pacificado / Pacified, directed by Paxton Winters, is the winner of the Golden Shell for Best Film at the 67th edition of the San Sebastian Festival and the first Brazilian production to win the prize in the history of the Festival. Darren Aronofsky, Paula Linhares, Marcos Tellecheak, Lisa Muskat and Winters himself are the producers of this film set in the favelas of Brazil. As well as carrying off the Festival’s highest accolade, Pacified garnered another two recognitions: the Best Actor Silver Shell for Bukassa Kabengele and the Award for Best Cinematography going to Laura Merians.
