Academy Reveals 353 Feature Films Eligible for 97th Academy Awards

‘Oh, Canada’ Trailer – Richard Gere, Jacob Elordi, and Uma Thurman Star in Paul Schrader’s Drama About an Aging Filmmaker
Oh Canada (Kino Lorber) Based on the 2021 novel Foregone by Russell Banks, Oh, Canada marks the second collaboration between director Paul Schrader and lead actor Richard Gere after 1997’s Affliction. The film follows the story of an aging filmmaker (played by Gere) telling the unfiltered story of his life for a documentary. Oh, Canada world premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival and also screened at the 38th AFI Fest.

38th AFI FEST to Showcase Lineup of 158 Films
Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point directed by Tyler Taormina This year’s 38th AFI FEST taking place in Los Angeles from October 23 to October 27 rounds out the slate of already announced titles with a full lineup of 158 films including September 5 directed by Tim Fehlbaum, All We Imagine As Light directed by Payal Kapadia, The Luckiest Man In America directed by Samir Oliveros (AFI Class of 2019), Zurawski V Texas from executive producers Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Jennifer Lawrence and directors Maisie Crow and Abbie Perrault, and Oh, Canada directed by Paul Schrader (AFI Class of 1969).
