This year’s 2020 Stony Brook Film Festival, will be offered virtually and over an extended 3 months. The Festival will showcase 24 new and independent films, all available to view online from September 10, 2020 through December 15, 2020.

PAPICHA, PINKY PROMISE Win Top Prizes at exground filmfest 32
exground filmfest 32: Award winners, award sponsors and the exground team / Photo: Peter R. Fischer exground filmfest 32 concluded its ten-day celebration of independent cinema with a gala awards ceremony. As best feature-length film, the audience chose PAPICHA by Mounia Meddour. Audience members selected PINKY PROMISE by Sophie Linnenbaum (who placed 2nd in 2018 with RIEN NE VA PLUS) as the winner in the German Short Film Competition. Second prize went to EARLY BIRDS by Benjamin Kempf-Siemens and Rainer Binz, and Felix Karolus was honoured with third prize for his film MENUETT.

BFI London Film Festival 2019 Unveils Lineup of 229 Films – THE AERONAUTS, A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
THE AERONAUTS directed by Tom Harper For 12 days from October 2 to 13, the 63rd BFI London Film Festival (LFF) will showcase 229 feature films including 41 documentaries, 7 animations, 13 archive restorations and 7 artists’ moving image features. The program also includes 116 short films.

14 German Films to Compete for New German Cinema New Talent Award at Munich Film Festival 2019
ALL I NEVER WANTED The renowned New German Cinema New Talent Award goes to eligible up-and-comers in the New German Cinema section at Munich International Film festival (Filmfest München) and carries a purse of €70,000, making it one of the most lucrative newcomer awards in the German film industry. Writers, directors, and actors in the sidebar who have not made more than three feature films have a shot at the prize, as well as producers who have not made more than six feature films. Candidates from fourteen films qualify this year. All are world premieres at the festival.
