It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This captured the Independent Spirit Award at the16th A Night of Horror International Film Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The film, a unique found footage offering, deftly blurs the line between documentary and narrative filmmaking, utilizing 20 years of real archival footage, and starring the filmmakers themselves.
Director Nicholas Gyeney (Beta Test, Ultra Low) and producer Kelsey Aho of Genie Productions will world premiere their latest feature film, the mind-bending thriller The Activated Man as the Closing Night Film of Dances with Films NYC on December 3rd at the Regal Union Square in Manhattan.
Dances With Films returns to New York City for the second time, November 30-December 3, with a film lineup nearly three times the size of last year’s NYC debut. DWF alum Dylan K. Narang’s Tapawingo is the Opening Night selection, and Nicholas Gyeney’s psychological thriller The Activated Man will make its world premiere in the Closing Night slot.
Director-writer Nicki Micheaux’s “Summer of Violence,” the festival’s Centerpiece Film, won Best Picture at the 15th annual DTLA Film Festival. Rosemary Rodriguez, the director of the festival’s Opening Night Film, “Hail Mary,” was named Best Director, and the two films tied for Audience Favorite Award. “It’s Basic” by Marc Levin took the Best Documentary award.
15 feature-length films are slated to screen alongside 15 shorts, webseries and TV pilots at the 15th annual DTLA Film Festival, set to run from November 1 through 5, 2023, at the Regal L.A. Live.
