2022 DTLA Film Festival Awards – Florencia Krochik’s THE REST OF US Wins Best Picture
The Rest of Us by Florencia Krochik Florencia Krochik’s The Rest of Us, a feature documentary about DACA kids shot over a decade, won Best Picture at the 13th DTLA Film Festival. Other award winners included director Martin Torrez’ “The Great American Low Rider Tradition,” a feature documentary about the Lowrider culture of East Los Angeles, which took the Audience Favorite Award, and Sophie Galibert, named Best Director for “Cherry,” a narrative dramedy that tackles the hot-button topic of abortion.

2022 Tallgrass Film Festival Reveals Official Selections, Opens with Ravi Kapoor’s FOUR SAMOSAS
Four Samosas directed by Ravi Kapoor Tallgrass Film Festival celebrate its 20th Anniversary on September 28-October 2, with a lineup including 53 features and 14 short film programs with 195 films; opening with Ravi Kapoor’s Four Samosas, joining the other gala presentations, which include the world premiere of Daniel Fetherston and Danny Szlauderbach’s, We Were Famous, You Don’t Remember: The Embarrassment, Bryan Darling and Jesse Finley Reed’s All Man: The International Male Story, Bradford Thomason and Brett Whitcomb’s Butterfly in the Sky, and Camille Hardman and Gary Lane’s Still Working 9 to 5.

2022 Seattle International Film Festival to Open to In-person Audiences
Following an all-virtual event last year, the 48th Seattle International Film Festival will return April 14–24, 2022 with a hybrid event that includes both in-person and virtual screenings. The 11-day festival will present the best in international and independent films from around the globe – with screenings at SIFF theaters and venues throughout the city as well as virtually on the SIFF Channel.
