SYNOPSIS: In the mountains of isolated Appalachia exists a highly-patriarchal and rigid sect of Pentecostal snake handlers, including the devoted Hope (recent Oscar-winner Olivia Colman) and her husband Zeke (Jim Gaffigan), who are losing faith in their apathetic son, Augie (Thomas Mann, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl). Meanwhile, the sect’s zealous leader (Walton Goggins) has promised his daughter Mara (Alice Englert) to marry an eager apostle, but she’s hiding a secret that threatens to tear the community apart.
