The first teaser trailer debuted for Natalia Meta’s The Intruder (El Prófugo), right after it was announced that the film will have its world premiere at the official competition of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, which will take place from February 20 to March 1, 2020.
The Intruder stars Érica Rivas, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Daniel Hendler, Cecilia Roth, Guillermo Arengo, Agustín Rittano, and Mirta Busnelli
Written and directed by Natalia Meta, the psychological thriller tells the story of Inés (Érica Rivas). A young woman who after a traumatic episode during a trip with her partner (Daniel Hendler) begins to confuse the border between the real and the imaginary. Vivid nightmares and recurring sounds invade the daily life he leads with his mother (Cecilia Roth), until rehearsing for a concert he meets Alberto (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart), a young man who adapts to his world without questioning. But Ines cannot avoid a dangerous sensation: there are beings that come from her dreams. Beings that want to stay forever.
It is based on The Evil Minor, the novel by C.E. Feiling, a cult writer who died in 1997. It is the second Meta movie, who in 2014 debuted as a director with Death In Buenos Aires (Muerte En Buenos Aires). Filming was carried out for eight weeks at locations in the City of Buenos Aires and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
