The 24th San Francisco Documentary Film Festival (SF DocFest) announced the winners with Audience Award for Best Feature going to Rebel With A Clause directed by Brandt Johnson and Jury Prize for Best Feature going to Flamingo Camp directed by Chris Coats.
Rebel With A Clause follows language expert Ellen Jovin and her pop-up advice stand — known as the Grammar Table — to all 50 states as she answers grammar questions posed by total strangers on the street. Flamingo Camp tells the story of a queer nomadic community on the fringes of society whose idyllic dream of a safe space is shattered when one of their members is brutally murdered.
In the short film category, Audience Award for Best Short went to The Believers directed by Manuel Lavalle, and Bad Hostage directed by Mimi Wilcox won the Jury Prize for Best Short.
Other prizes including Special Jury Prize for Spirit of Activism Award went to Life After directed by Reid Davenport, and No Bad Takes: An American Picture Show with William T. Vollmann directed by Greg Roden won the Special Jury Prize for Excellence in American Profiles Award.
The Festival held May 29 to June 8, 2025, presented 91 films (27 features, 64 shorts) from 25 countries.
