The political thriller Words of War starring Maxine Peake (The Theory of Everything, The Village), Ciarán Hinds (Belfast, Game of Thrones), and Jason Isaacs (White Lotus, Harry Potter, Death of Stalin) will open in select theaters in the U.S. on May 2, to coincide with World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd, expanding internationally this summer.


Academy Award nominee Maria Bakalova (The Apprentice, Borat) stars in filmmaker Hala Matar’s directorial debut Electra, a stylish, sexy, and seductive thriller set in Italy.

One Spoon of Chocolate, the feature film directed by rapper, actor, director, and record producer RZA will make its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
A24’s The Brutalist will make its streaming debut on Max on Friday, May 16. The three-time Academy Award(-winning film will debut on HBO linear on Saturday, MAY 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Award-winning playwright David Mamet returns to the director’s chair with Henry Johnson, his first theatrical film in 17 years. The prison drama stars Evan Jonigkeit as a man whose life is upended by an act of compassion, leading him into a morally ambiguous journey. Shia LaBeouf co-stars as a charismatic and manipulative inmate who becomes Henry’s cellmate, drawing him deeper into a world of ethical uncertainty. The film is an adaptation of Mamet’s 2023 play of the same name.

Soul On Fire, the drama film from director Sean McNamara (Reagan, Soul Surfer), inspired by the life of John O’Leary, will be released in theatres nationwide on October 10, 2025 by Sony Pictures Entertainment’s AFFIRM Films.
